Three jewel cases in a cardboard box contains music used in the BBC TV series 'The Singing Detective' and additional songs from the 1930s/40s dance band era. Amenability credits: Track 1-8 Bill Bird was already credited for this song on shellac [r2611358. Track 1-11 Norman Baillie-Stewart, a turncoat former British army officer working for German propaganda, translated the lyrics for Lale Andersen English record in early 1942. Songwriter Tommie Connor also wrote English lyrics with the title "Lily of the Lamplight" in 1944, which was never recorded by Lale Andersen. Track 1-14 Was composed by Hoagy Carmichael in 1939, with lyrics based on a poem written by Jane Brown Thompson, and the main melodic theme on the Fantaisie-Impromptu in C sharp minor, Op 66, by Frédéric Chopin. Track 2-4 The melody was composed by author and songwriter James Weldon Johnson and his brother John Rosamond Johnson. The lyrics are inspired by Ezekiel 37:1-14. Track 3-1 From the film "Hollywood Canteen" (1944) music by Cole Porter and lyrics by Robert Fletcher. Originally written for the unproduced film "Adios Argentina" (1934).
