On April 5, 1980, R.E.M. performed their first show, without a name, in their hometown of Athens, Georgia. In the first week of November, 1989, we rolled tape and shot film at a number of shows, with a name, and with a wild and unforgettable decade of touring behind us. Recorded live during the final leg of The Green World Tour 1989. Track 18 is not listed on the cover, it plays during the end credits. There are 3 snippets from R.E.M. songs included: - "So. Central Rain" during the opening credits after "The One I Love" - "Belong" (unreleased at the time) after "Pop Song 89" - "Low" (unreleased at the time) after "King Of Birds" The following tracks include snippets from other artists' songs: Track 5 - "We Live As We Dream Alone" by Gang Of Four Track 7 - "Future 40's (String Of Pearls)" by Syd Straw (co-written by Michael Stipe) Track 15 - "With The People" by Drivin' N' Cryin', and "Bow Song" by Hetch Hetchy
